Kenneth Gladstein co-manages the Sares Regis Multifamily Funds with responsibility for portfolio management, capital raising, reporting and investor relations. Since joining Sares Regis in 2003, Mr. Gladstein has overseen the acquisition, disposition and financing of over $1.5 billion in residential multifamily properties throughout Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Mr. Gladstein served in senior management, acquisition and finance positions with Limar Realty Group and LoopNet, and co-founded Metropolis Partners, Inc. as a Managing Partner. Mr. Gladstein began his career in the mortgage-backed securities groups at Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. and at Nomura Securities International where he focused on institutional sales and trading.
Mr. Gladstein received a B.A. degree in Economics from Tufts University and an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
William Montgomery co-manages the Sares Regis Multifamily Funds with responsibility for all acquisition and disposition activities, as well as the asset management and renovation of the portfolio. Since joining Sares Regis in 2003, Mr. Montgomery has overseen the acquisition, disposition and financing of over $1.6 billion in residential multifamily properties throughout Southern California, Denver and Phoenix.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Mr. Montgomery served as Director of Acquisitions for Western National Properties, managing the acquisitions of existing apartment communities throughout California, Colorado and Seattle. He also served at Shea Properties as Director of Acquisitions for multifamily acquisitions and development. Mr. Montgomery began his career as an investment real estate broker for Sperry Van Ness and CB Commercial (now CB Richard Ellis).
Mr. Montgomery received a B.S. degree in Business at California Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo, California. He is on the Multifamily Bronze Council of ULI, an associate member of the NMHC, and a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Kenneth Coatsworth joined Sares Regis in 2009. As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Coatsworth is responsible for all capital market activities including legal, finance, tax and administrative functions.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Mr. Coatsworth served as Chief Financial Officer for Hopkins Real Estate Group, a Southern California-based developer focused on urban infill retail development and as Vice President of Finance for Fieldstone Communities, where he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing project-level transactions and managing corporate level capital needs.
Mr. Coatsworth holds a B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He is a California Certified Public Accountant.
Stephen Lanni joined Sares Regis in 2004. As Vice President of Acquisitions, Mr. Lanni is responsible for the acquisition of residential multifamily properties, including sourcing, underwriting, structuring, due diligence and closing.
Mr. Lanni worked in the multifamily investment and development division of Sares Regis where he was responsible for Southern California investment opportunities including value-add investment properties, land acquisition for development and existing projects for condominium conversion. Mr. Lanni began his career at Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was responsible for managing Bank of America’s Southern California corporate real estate transactions.
Mr. Lanni received his B.S. degree in Real Estate Finance and Marketing and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He is an Associate Member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and a member of ULI.
Hunter Heatly joined Sares Regis in 2011. As Vice President of Asset Management, Mr. Heatly and is responsible for overseeing the execution and investment performance of all Sares Regis Multifamily Fund investments.
Previously, Mr. Heatly worked in the multifamily investment and development division of Sares Regis where he was responsible for acquisitions in Southern California. Mr. Heatly also served as Manager of multifamily acquisitions for the Irvine Company.
Mr. Heatly received a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and an M.B.A. from Chapman University. He is a ULI Young Leader and a member of the Argyros Hoag Real Estate Association.
Adelina Rosen joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2019. As a Vice President of Portfolio Management, Ms. Rosen is responsible for fund management, investor relations, capital raising, and investor reporting.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Ms. Rosen was the Senior Director of Asset Management for RealtyShares, a real estate crowdfunding platform. Prior to that, Ms. Rosen was Head of Portfolio Management at Grove International Partners, a New York-based real estate private equity fund. While in New York, Ms. Rosen also spent a few years at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services as Real Estate Valuation Consultant and at Local Initiatives Support Corporation, as a portfolio manager.
Ms. Rosen received a B.S. degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Universidade Mackenzie, Sao Paulo and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Andrew Pratt joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2021 as Vice President of Acquisitions. Mr. Pratt is responsible for the acquisition of residential multifamily properties, including sourcing, underwriting, structuring, due diligence, and closing throughout Texas and other target markets.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Mr. Pratt served as an Investment Manager for Cortland, where he was responsible for underwriting, acquiring, and managing a portfolio of multifamily assets, and experienced executing a variety of strategies including development, core plus, and value-add.
Mr. Pratt received his Bachelor of Science in Management and Real Estate Finance from the University of Arkansas, Walton College of Business.
Brittany Smothermon joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2015. As Controller, Mrs. Smothermon is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and tax functions.
Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Smothermon served as Senior Accountant at LBA Realty, where she recorded daily accounting transactions and prepared financial reporting. Mrs. Smothermon began her career in audit & assurance with Deloitte.
Mrs. Smothermon holds a B.A. degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Chapman University. She is a California Certified Public Accountant.
Eric Bergerson joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2019. As Director of Investments, Mr. Bergerson is responsible for the acquisition of residential multifamily properties, including sourcing, underwriting, structuring, due diligence and closing in select target markets.
Previously, Mr. Bergerson served as Senior Analyst for the multifamily acquisitions division of Sares Regis where he was responsible for analytical activities supporting the acquisitions, asset management, and fund operations teams.
Mr. Bergerson received a B.A. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.
Tanya Lee joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2019 bringing along 15 years of real estate experience. As Acquisitions Manager, Mrs. Lee is responsible for managing the marketing, diligence processes and closings for acquisitions and dispositions.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Tanya managed multifamily transactions for the commercial brokerage firms HFF L.P. and CBRE. Mrs. Lee received a B.A. degree in English from University of California, San Diego.
Jennifer Simpson joined Sares Regis in 2007. Ms. Simpson is responsible for managing interior design projects for all Fund properties. Ms. Simpson’s previously held the position of Transaction Manager, where she was responsible for managing the marketing, diligence processes and closings for acquisitions and dispositions.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Ms. Simpson managed transactions and marketing campaigns at Whittlesey Doyle, a residential land brokerage firm. She also served as a property manager for luxury apartment communities at Arnel Residential.
Ms. Simpson received a B.A. degree in Visual Art from Point Loma Nazarene University and a Certificate in Light Construction and Development Management from the University of California, Irvine. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker and a LEED AP (O+M).
Tony Catalano joined Sares Regis in 1995. As Project Manager, Mr. Catalano handles capital projects and renovations of Fund communities in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest.
Prior to being Project Manager for the Funds, Mr. Catalano has served many positions at Sares Regis including Maintenance Supervisor, Project Superintendent and Director of Customer Service.
Tony holds many certificates in construction/maintenance and is a 25-year veteran of our firm.
Patrick Cleary joined the Sares Regis Capital Projects team in 2019. As Project Manager, Mr. Cleary oversees renovations at SRG Funds properties in the Arizona and Northern California markets.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Mr. Cleary has served as a Project Manager, Superintendent and Operations Manager, most recently at Village Management Services of Laguna Woods.
Mr. Cleary is a licensed contractor, Cal OSHA/OSHA Certified and received a Business Degree from San Diego State University.
Nathan Highducheck began his career with Sares Regis Multifamily Funds as an acquisitions intern and, in 2023, became a full-time analyst. In this role, Mr. Highducheck provides key analytical support for the acquisitions, asset management, and fund management teams.
Mr. Highducheck received a B.A. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of California, Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business.
Daniel Bertschy joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2023 as an Asset Management Analyst. In this capacity, Mr. Bertschy’s main responsibilities are monitoring the operating performance of the properties and supporting the analytical activities of the asset management team.
Previously, Mr. Bertschy worked as an intern in the asset management team of Sares Regis Multifamily Funds.
Mr. Bertschy received a B.A. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and Organizational Management from the University of California, Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business.
Ashley Palumbo joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2017. As Project Coordinator, Ms. Palumbo works alongside the Project Management team on all Fund projects with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Ms. Palumbo was responsible for land development purchasing, contracting, marketing and project coordination at Lennar Cal Coastal Division & Jones Lang Lasalle.
Ms. Palumbo is PMP certified from the University of California, Irvine in Project Management, OSHA Certified and is a licensed California Real Estate Agent.
Judy Lam joined Sares Regis in 2000. As a Project Accountant, Ms. Lam is responsible for processing, tracking and reviewing construction draws and lien waivers for the rehab projects of the Sares Regis Multifamily Funds.
Prior to joining the Sares Regis Multifamily Funds, Ms. Lam served as a Project Accountant in the Regis Contractors division where she prepared and reviewed of all monthly loan draws plus set up new projects and completed project-related performance reporting, budget maintenance and control & construction funding and payments.
Ms. Lam attended San Francisco State University where she majored in International Business.
Karen Thomsen joined Sares Regis in 2018. As a Project Accountant, Ms. Thomsen is responsible for processing, tracking and reviewing construction draws and lien waivers for the redevelopment projects of the Sares Regis Multifamily Funds.
Prior to joining the Sares Regis Multifamily Funds, Ms. Thomsen worked as a Project Accountant for several residential home builders, including Vintage Communities, Inc., where she was responsible for the onboarding of new projects, preparation of monthly deliverables to lenders, management, and investors, as well as project budget maintenance and control.
Ms. Thomsen attended Orange Coast College where she majored in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting.
Rose Menichetti joined Sares Regis Multifamily Funds in 2019 as an Accounting Supervisor. In this role, Mrs. Menichetti is responsible for preparing the quarterly financials and overseeing various other critical accounting activities.
Mrs. Menichetti’s journey with Sares Regis commenced in the commercial division, where she served as a Senior Accountant. Prior to her tenure at Sares Regis, Mrs. Menichetti worked as a senior accountant for several property management companies including BKM, Donahue Schriber, Voit and Shea Properties.
Mrs. Menichetti holds a B.S. degree in Finance from San Diego State University.
Geoffrey Stack co-founded Sares Regis Group in 1993 and is responsible for the executive management of residential real estate operations of the company’s multifamily business.
Prior to founding Sares Regis Group, Mr. Stack served from 1977 to 1993 as the President of the Regis Group, which focused on the development, management and sale of multifamily rental properties and for-sale condominiums. Mr. Stack worked as an aide to United States Senator Paul H. Douglas and served from 1967 to 1970 as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Captain.
Mr. Stack received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Stack sits on the board of directors of the Tejon Ranch Company (NYSE), Georgetown University Board of Regents, the California Housing Council, and the National Multi Housing Council.
Robert Wagner co-founded Sares Regis Group of Northern California (“SRGNC”) in 1993 and is responsible for the executive management of all operating divisions in Northern California.
Prior to founding SRGNC, Mr. Wagner served from 1986 to 1991 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Prometheus Development Co., a privately held real estate company that develops, owns and manages multifamily properties throughout the Western United States. Prior to joining Prometheus in 1978, Mr. Wagner served as Senior Loan Officer for Citicorp Real Estate, Inc., a subsidiary of Citibank, N.A., in New York and San Francisco.
Mr. Wagner received a B.A. degree in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. degree from Boston University. He is a member of Lambda Alpha International and serves on the Board of Directors of The Swig Company.
William Thormahlen co-founded Sares Regis Group in 1993 and is responsible for the executive management of operations and all legal, finance, tax and administrative functions.
Prior to founding Sares Regis Group, Mr. Thormahlen served as Executive Vice President for the Sammis Company (predecessor to the SARES Company) where he was responsible for accounting, finance, legal and administrative functions as well as coordination of the regional office network.
Mr. Thormahlen received a B.A. degree in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and the National Realty Committee.
Chris Payne joined Sares Regis in 2014. As President of Multifamily Development, Mr. Payne is responsible for overseeing the residential platform in Southern California with responsibility for new development activity as well as the investment, construction, and property management divisions.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Mr. Payne managed the regional development activities for AvalonBay Communities in Southern California for 14 years. Mr. Payne also managed new development activity in Southern California for Belmont Corporation and was responsible for developing single family home communities with Greystone Homes.
Mr. Payne received a B.S. degree in Finance from California State University Fullerton and a Master of Real Estate Development degree from the University of Southern California. Mr. Payne currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Jeffrey M. Bailey joined Sares Regis Group in 2017 and brings over 20 years of multifamily experience to the firm. Mr. Bailey has extensive market knowledge of California and the Western United Sates having managed large portfolios, in excess of 15,000 apartment units, for both public and private companies, where he was responsible for the bottom line performance within the key regions.
Mr. Bailey comes to Sares Regis Group from Greystar Management Company where he was the Managing Director of the Southern California Region responsible for day to day operations, developing and implementing the region’s business plan, and executing key initiatives. He began his career in asset management and spent over 16 years in the public real estate sector with Equity Residential and BRE Properties, Inc.
Mr. Bailey is on the Board of the California Apartment Association South Coast chapter, and is a Certified Property Manager with the Institute of Real Estate Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Accounting.
Ginger Bryant joined Sares Regis in 1993. As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of SRGNC, Ms. Bryant oversees Finance, Accounting, Treasury and Operations for the Bay Area portfolio.
Prior to joining Sares Regis, Ms. Bryant served as Property Management Controller and Vice President of Finance and Administration of Prometheus Development Co., a privately held real estate company that develops, owns and manages multifamily properties throughout the Western United States. She began her career as an auditor at Arthur Young, now Ernst & Young.
Ms. Bryant received a B.S. degree in Business Administration and M.A. degree in Accountancy from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women (“CREW”) and served as President for the San Francisco Chapter in 2000 and National President in 2005.
